Club News:
Colmcille Community Centre will be temporarily closed from 17th February to 2nd March due to essential construction work on the roof structure. For safety reasons, the area will be designated as a construction site, and no access will be permitted during this period. The community centre committee apologises for any inconvenience and appreciates the cooperation of the community. This project is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Longford County Council under the CLÁR Programme.
The Every Step Counts initiative wrapped up on Wednesday, the 12th, with Colmcille GFC securing 53rd place in Leinster. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, making the effort to get their steps in while promoting health, well-being, and supporting the club. This challenge was a fantastic way to stay active as a community, and we appreciate the commitment shown by all involved. A special mention goes to our top three contributors, Anne McKeon, Emma Brady, and Alan McKeon, for their outstanding efforts. Well done to everyone who took part!
Our senior team’s National League Predictor fundraiser continues this weekend with Gameweek 4 kicking off on Saturday. Week 3 proved to be another highly competitive round, with some impressive scores recorded. Congratulations to Ciaran McKeon, who secured the €100 prize with an outstanding 80-point performance. The latest Top 10 leaderboard is available on our website and social media pages. All participants should have received an email with their scores—please check your spam folder if it hasn’t arrived. Those who entered manually and wish to check their scores can contact Philip at 087 235 5766. Don’t forget to submit your predictions for the upcoming round of National Football League games through the online link or by reaching out to any senior player.
Best wishes to the Longford Senior team who now turn their focus to their next game against Waterford in Glennon Bros Pearse Park this weekend on Sunday February 23rd at 2pm. In particular, best wishes to Ruairi, Cathal and Jack.
Condolences:
Colmcille GFC would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the late Michael (Mickie) Corcoran, Aughakiernan, whose funeral took place Saturday at 11am in St. Colmcille’s Church, Aughnacliffe.
