Club News:
Colmcille Community Centre will be temporarily closed from 17th February to 2nd March due to essential construction work on the roof structure. For safety reasons, the area will be designated as a construction site, and no access will be permitted during this period. The community centre committee apologises for any inconvenience and appreciates the cooperation of the community. This project is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and Longford County Council under the CLÁR Programme.

The Every Step Counts initiative is well underway, and Colmcille GFC currently ranks 52nd in Leinster. There’s still plenty of time to make a difference and improve our standing, so we’re encouraging everyone to get involved. This is a fantastic opportunity to stay active, promote health and well-being, and help the club at the same time. By signing up and logging your steps, you’ll contribute to our overall total and give us a chance to win prize money for the club. Whether it’s a walk, jog, or run, every step you take counts towards our position!
Colmcille GFC is seeking participants for Scór Sinsear 2025, offering a great opportunity to showcase your talents, represent the club, and connect with others in the community. Whether you are a singer, dancer, or musician, or have a flair for drama or storytelling, we want to hear from you. This is a wonderful chance to highlight the talent within our parish and get involved with the club. For more information or to participate, contact Grace on 087 796 2558.
Our senior team’s National League Predictor fundraiser continues this weekend with Gameweek 3 now in full swing! Week 2 was competitive, with some very good scores. Congratulations to Luke Donnelly, who claimed the €100 prize with an impressive score of 80 points. The Top 10 leaderboard is available on our website and social media pages. All participants should have received an email with their scores—please check your spam folder if it hasn’t arrived. For those who entered manually and want to know their scores, please contact Philip on 087 235 5766. Be sure to get your predictions in for the second round of National Football League games through the link online or by contacting any senior player.
Best wishes to the Longford Senior team who now turn their focus to their next game against Wicklow in Echelon Park this weekend on Sunday February 16th. In particular, best wishes to Ruairi, Cathal and Jack.
