This Week’s Colmcille GFC Club Notes

Match Results:
Hard luck to our U21 team who missed out on a win in the first round of the U21 A Football Championship last Friday night in Ballymahon. The lads played out a hard-fought match which ended in an eventual draw with the final score being Ballymahon/Kenagh 1-12 0-15 Colmcille. Well done to all involved against a tough team.

The very best of luck to our U21 team as they play the second round of the U21 A Championship this weekend! The lads will clash with Killoe on Sunday at 2 pm in Fr. McGee Park. Wishing the team and management all the best – let’s get out and show our support for the lads!

Colmcille GFC will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) towards the end of the month. This is a valuable opportunity for all members, supporters, and those interested in the future of our club to come together, discuss key topics, and help shape the path forward for the coming year. Further details regarding the date, time, and agenda will be shared on our social media channels and website in the coming days. We strongly encourage good attendance as we review the club’s achievements, set future goals, and discuss matters that impact us all. Your participation and voice are essential to our club’s continued success. We look forward to seeing you there!

Despite the result not going our way in the county final, we are so grateful for the support of our fantastic sponsors and dedicated supporters. Your backing has powered us through the championship; we are thankful for that. Check out the the full list of sponsors who’ve supported us in the build-up to the final on our website. We may not have brought home the Connolly Cup, but with a community like ours, the future is bright. Here’s to many more county finals in the near future.

Condolences:
Colmcille GFC would like to extend our deepest condolences to the family and relatives of the late PJ Carroll, Cootehill Road, Cavan Town, whose funeral took place last Thursday. PJ, who managed our senior team in 2006, was a respected figure in the GAA community, known for his dedication, sportsmanship, and leadership on and off the field. His impact on our club, and the respect he garnered as a manager, will be long remembered. He will be deeply missed by his wife Anne, his children Olivia, Annemarie, Caroline, and Pauric, along with his grandchildren, extended family, and many friends. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
