Match Results:
Hard luck to our U13’s who lost out in the Under 13 Champions Challenge Plate Semi Final last Monday to Sothern Gaels.
Well done to our U16’s who had a great 4-14 to 0-11 victory vs St Patricks Óg last Saturday in the Under 16 Football Championship B Cup Quarter Final. Well done to all involved.
Upcoming Fixtures:
The very best of luck to our Senior team who will play Abbeylara in the Longford Senior Football Championship final Replay on Saturday at 3:45 pm. We would love to see lots of green and red around the parish in support of our seniors in the quest to win the Sean Connolly Cup for the eighth time. Best of luck to the team and management. Despite the postponement last week and the draw the week before its still important to remember that the prize of the Sean Connolly Cup remains so please get behind the team and management this week and show your support.
Best of luck also to our U16s who will face off against Killoe Óg on Friday 25th at 8 pm in the Under 16 Football Championship B Cup Semi Final in Emmet Park.
50/50 Draw:
Our 50/50 Draw took place last Monday, the 7th in Murtagh’s Bar. We want to thank everyone who participated in the draw. Congratulations to Thomas McNally, the lucky winner of our €1,790 jackpot. Club News:
A massive thank you to all of our supporters, and everyone who contributed to an unforgettable week leading up to the County Final. The energy, enthusiasm, and support from the entire community, especially on County Final day, were incredible. We are very grateful for the encouragement shown to the players and management—it genuinely makes a huge difference. As we prepare for the replay this Sunday at 4pm in Pearse Park, we hope everyone can rally together once more for one final push. Thank you all again for your unwavering support. Let’s go again!
We’d also like to wish our neighbors, Sean Connolly’s, the very best of luck in the Intermediate Final this Saturday at 1 pm, which will serve as the curtain raiser to our County Final replay. Colmcille want to congratulate our 2024 Longford Minor representatives who had an awards night last Saturday 12th October in the Longford Arms. Our players Keelan Hudson and Luke Donnelly were presented with the Leinster Minor Championship medals while selector Podgie Murtagh and manager, Enda McGahern were presented with framed Longford jerseys to acknowledge this great achievement. The club are very proud to have great representatives with the county and we want to once again congratulate you on your achievement lads!
Also, a quick word for Enda McGahern! The wise man who guided his native Longford to a remarkable Leinster Minor Football Championship success this year has been appointed as Longford Senior selector. Enda will work alongside the new Longford senior football supremo Mike Solan! Well deserved Enda.
The Colmcille U21 Football Management Team has been ratified for the upcoming 2024 U21 A Championship. Colmcille are delighted to announce Colin Kiernan, Killian Reilly and Glen Kelly as a management team to try to bring the U2 Championship to Colmcille for the first time since 2015. The club wish the lads the very best of luck over the next couple of months.
