This Week’s Colmcille GFC Club Notes


Match Results:
Congratulations to our minors who won in Round 4 of the Minor Football Championship against Western Gaels last Tuesday, with a final score of 6-10 to 2-04.

Massive well done to our junior team who last Sunday defeated Longford Slashers in the last league stage game of the Junior A Football Championship with a scoreline of 0-14 0-05. This result means that the lads will progress to a JFC Semi-Final vs Grattan Óg on the weekend of 28th September as per Longford GAA master fixtures. Well done to the team and management!

Congratulations to our senior team who defeated Clonguish in the Quarter-Final of the Longford Senior Football Championship last Saturday with a score of 1-07 to 0-08. The team will now advance to the SFC Semi-Final against neighbours Mullinalaghta on the weekend of 28th September as per the Longford GAA master fixtures. Well done to the team and management!

Upcoming Fixtures:
Best of luck to our minor team who take on Ballymahon Forgney Carrick Sarsfields in the fifth and final round of the Minor Football championship on Tuesday at 8 pm in Leo Casey Park. Best wishes to the team and management.

Best of luck to our U16s who will face Northern Gaels in the third round of the U16 Football Championship Group 2 League Stages on Friday 20th September at 6:30 pm in Fr. McGee Park.

50/50 Draw:
Our 50/50 Draw took place last Monday, the 2nd in Paddy Reilly’s Bar. We want to thank everyone who participated in the draw. Congratulations to Lisa Murray & Fergal Sheridan, the lucky winners of our €1,380 jackpot. You can enter the 50/50 draw by purchasing envelopes at any local shop or pub or by entering online. Club News:
We are looking for people to participate in Scór in the following categories: Figure Dancing, Set Dancing, Solo Singing, Ballad Group, Recitation, Novelty Act, Instrumental, and Quiz. It is a great way to get involved with the club, build confidence, and showcase the wide variety of talents the young people of our parish have to offer! The Scór na nÓg competition is for young people who were aged under 17 on the 1st of January 2024. At the moment, it is set to take place on the weekend of the 8th of November. Contact Grace at 0877962558 for more information on how to get involved.
