Club Notes – Week 34

This Week’s Colmcille GFC Club Notes

Match Results:
Our senior team did a great job by defeating Mostrim 2-11 to 1-11 in the senior football championship last Saturday evening. This result ensures the team’s spot in the quarterfinals with one game to spare. Well done to the team and management.

Our junior team achieved a fantastic victory against a tough Grattan’s team in the Junior Football Championship last Sunday, with a score of 0-14 to 0-10 in Dunbeggan. This win marked the team’s first victory in the championship and provides them with an opportunity to advance to the knockout stage if they can continue their winning form and secure two more good results. Well done to the team and management.

Hard luck to our minors who lost in the Minor Football Championship League Stage 1 against Killoe last Tuesday, with a final score of 2-08 to 1-10.

Upcoming Fixtures:
Our senior team will play in the final round of the Peter Hanley Motors Senior Football Championship group stages on Sunday 1st September vs Rathcline in Keenan Park (Ardagh). This promises to be a good test to hopefully pick up 2 more points. A win vs Rathcline will ensure we finish 2nd in our group. Throw-in is at 2:30 pm. Best of luck to the players and management.

Our junior team will face Clonguish in the Longford Junior Football Championship on Wednesday 28th August in Fr. McGee Park. Throw-in is at 7:00 pm. Best of luck to the players and management as the lads look to push for a place in the knockout stages.

Best of luck to our minor team who take on Granard in the second round of the Minor Football championship on Tuesday at 7:15 pm in Fr. McGee Park. Best wishes to the team and management.

Best of luck to our u16s who will face a strong amalgamation of Ballymahon Forgney Carrick Sarsfields in the Under 16 Football League Division 2 Shield Final on Wednesday 28th August at 7:00 pm in Michael Moran Park.

Best of luck to our u14s who will face St. Dominic’s in the Under 14 Football Championship Knock Out Play Off on Monday 26th August at 7:00 pm in McGann Park.
