Club News:
Our senior team delivered a brilliant performance in Fr. McGee Park to edge out Mullinalaghta in a thrilling semi-final, winning 0-17 to 1-13. It was a hard-fought battle between two top sides, and credit to the lads for showing real grit and determination to get over the line. We now look ahead to the Leader Cup Final this Saturday at 7:00 PM in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park, where we’ll face Clonguish. We encourage all supporters to come out in force and get behind the team as they aim to bring home the silverware.
In Division 3 action, our team secured a strong away win over Legan Sarsfields on Wednesday, June 18th in Flood Park, with a final score of 1-17 to 1-14. They now prepare to host Killoe Young Emmets in Round 7 (final round) this Wednesday, June 25th at 8:00 PM in Fr. McGee Park, with Michael Hackett officiating.
Our U16 boys had a dominant start to their B Football Cup Group 2 campaign on Monday, June 16th, defeating Northern Gaels by an impressive 13-20 to 1-3 at Fr. McGee Park. The team showed great skill and teamwork throughout the match.
Looking ahead, our minor team will begin their Division 2 League campaign this Thursday, June 26th at 7:00 PM in Fr. McGee Park, where they will take on Ballymahon Forgney Carrick Sarsfields. Padraig McKenna will be the referee for the evening.
A huge congratulations to our own Councillor Garry Murtagh, former player and selector, on his election as Cathaoirleach of Longford County Council at last week’s AGM. It’s a proud moment for Garry, his family, and the entire Colmcille community. We know he will serve with the same passion and commitment he has always shown on and off the field.
Well done to our Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others team on a tough but spirited game against Dromard on their astro pitch. Great effort from all involved and thanks to everyone who came out to support.
Massive congratulations to our U16 girls and their management team – Dermot and Fiona Murphy, Colm Kilbride, Clara Durkin, Aaron Smith, and Sean Smith, on a fantastic Championship Final win over Ballymahon Forgney on Monday evening. A brilliant achievement and a proud moment for the club.
Congratulations to Padraig & Patricia Murtagh on the birth of their second baby girl last week.
