Club News:
It was a busy fortnight across all teams in the club. Our Division 1 team fell just short in a closely contested battle against Dromard on Friday, June 6th in Fr. McGee Park, with the final score reading 1-12 to 1-11 in favour of the visitors. They’ll aim to bounce back this Friday, June 13th with an away trip to Killoe Young Emmets in Round 9 — throw-in at 8:30pm in Emmet Park.
Our Division 3 side were in top form on Sunday, June 1st as they delivered a powerful performance at home to Granard, running out 4-14 to 1-9 winners in Round 4 of the league. Great to see strong scoring and sharp teamwork throughout the match.

There were two good outings for our Division 5 team. First up, they recorded a dominant 3-12 to 1-8 win at home to Abbeylara on Wednesday, May 28th. They followed that up with a hard-fought draw away to Mullinalaghta on Sunday, June 8th, finishing level at 1-12 to 0-15. They now look ahead to hosting Mostrim on Sunday, June 15th in Fr. McGee Park at 2:00pm.

At underage level, our U14 boys enjoyed a solid 7-8 to 4-4 win over Clonguish Óg in Round 5 of the Division 2 league on June 2nd. Despite that, they bowed out of the Cup competition following a 4-10 to 0-12 defeat to Southern Gaels in the semi-final later that week. They now prepare for the Division 2 Shield Final this Wednesday, June 11th, against Clonguish Óg in Allen Park at 7:00pm.

Our U12 team continued their strong form with a brilliant performance against Grattan Gaels, finishing 0-29 to 0-6 at Fr. McGee Park on Friday, May 30th. Their next outing is this Friday, June 13th, away to Longford Slashers at 7:00pm in Michael Fay Park.

Huge congratulations to Michelle Farrell, Aughagreagh and Emmet Noonan on their recent engagement. Wishing you both every happiness from all your friends in Colmcille and the surrounding areas.

Well done also to our Gaelic for Mothers and Others group, who recently played their first ever match against Killoe – a proud and fun milestone for the team.
A special shout-out to Conor Grant and Gerard Carberry who were both part of the Longford Minor management team that guided the county to a fantastic All-Ireland C Final victory. Well done to all involved.

Best wishes to all students and club members sitting their Junior and Leaving Cert exams – the very best of luck in the final stretch!

Lastly, the 2025 Longford Senior Football Championship draw has been made, with Colmcille placed in Group A alongside Killoe, Granard, Dromard, Mostrim and Carrickedmond. Our opening fixture is against Carrickedmond, with fixture details to follow on www.colmcilleGFC.com as soon as confirmed.
