Club News:
We had a fantastic Club Social Night and Medal Presentation on Saturday, March 15th, as we celebrated the achievements of our Senior and Division 3 teams in 2024. Held at Murtagh’s Bar over the St. Patrick’s Day Bank Holiday Weekend, the event recognised our teams’ success in the Michael Moran Cup (ACFL Division 2), the Patsy Reilly Cup (ACFL Division 2 Cup), and the Gilmore Cup (ACFL Division 3 Cup). Longford County Board chairperson Derek Fahy was on hand to present medals to the players. Club chairperson Barry Kennedy also addressed those in attendance, congratulating the players, thanking his executive committee, and presenting special awards to Luke Donnelly, Keelan Hudson, and Podgie Murtagh for their role in Longford’s Leinster Minor Championship victory in 2023.

Best of luck to our U16 team as they kick off their Division 2 league campaign on Tuesday, March 18th, against Ballymahon Forgney Carrick Sarsfields in Leo Casey Park at 6:45 pm. Their second fixture will see them take on Killoe Óg on Saturday at 8:00 pm in Emmet Park.

Congratulations to our National Schools girls’ and boys’ teams, who took part in the Cumann na mBunscol Mini 7’s tournament in Clonguish last week. It was a great day of football, with both teams competing against schools from across the county. A big thank you to Mr. Wallace, Mrs. C. Reilly, Colm Ginty, and Mattie Kavanagh for their help in organising and supporting the teams on the day.

We were delighted to see our underage teams proudly representing the club in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Arva on Sunday. The fantastic turnout highlighted the enthusiasm and spirit of our young players. Well done to everyone who participated—you did the club proud! Thanks to all the coaches, parents, and supporters who helped make it a memorable occasion. Up Colmcille and Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
